Think philosophical stance this week – What are these women saying about whats important in life? – What were their lives like (google them!)? And What is important to them? Like last week — write about two and ask questions about the others!

So – what do you make of the contemporary short story? What interests you? What do you see thematically – just write what you want about at least two of these stories and pose thematic questions about the other two. I will look at people’s questions in class.

While quite a few of you will have your papers back by class time, I am fairly certain that they will not all be done by then. I want to be diligent and give each of these the reading they deserve so please be patient.

Please post about the thematic ideas that you see in these stories — do they have things in common? What do they say about the modern American identity? You can write about anything in any of the stories but you must comment about each text in detail and using quotes.
